(THE BEFORE)
A homepage offers high visibility as a gateway to a website, it is often a place where everyone in the company wants a stake. Because of this, I think it's important to consider corporate and departmental objectives, market position and data to drive the framework of content / design / UX strategy.
My process:
Discovery: stakeholder interviews, metrics, competitor analysis
Analysis: evaluate research gathered from discovery phase, develop personas/user stories, extract objectives and insights
Design: sketches, wireframes
Design Objectives:
Articulate what ServiceNow does
Evaluate content strategy to differentiate from competitors
Evaluate importance of marquee - style and position
Find a way to refresh content
Engage users on the homepage before redirecting them elsewhere
Design strategies:
Simplify the experience
More white space to create content chunking
Less content per panel
Parallax interaction could help engage visitors
Content should be focused on the benefits of the platform/ServiceNow, not individual products. This will also appeal to a wider audience
Use appropriate font styling/hierarchy to attract attention to important content
